You already recognize some of names and faces from the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” but there’s a lot you probably still don’t know about this group of 16 heavyweight warriors. Each weekday between now and the Sept. 16 premiere of “The Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights,” FIGHT! will introduce two cast members leading up to the introduction of our TUF bloggers.

Zak Jensen
Age: 26
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 265 lbs
Hometown: Edina, Minn.
Trains: Chanhassen, Minn. with Gorilla Combat
MMA record: 7-3

Born in Edina, Minn., Jensen was a standout athlete at Hopkins High School, earning All-Conference honors in football, wrestling, and track and field. He attended Northern Illinois University where he both wrestled and played football before transferring to Augsburg College where he continued his two-sport athletic career.

While still in college, Jensen participated in local tough man competitions and spent his spare time in the gym. After his collegiate athletic career was over, he enrolled in the Golden Gloves boxing tournament. A friend impressed by his ability and offered him the opportunity to join his mixed martial arts team. Just two months later he had his first fight, a victory, and thus a mixed martial arts career was born.
