UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans Is Official for New Jersey

The UFC officially announced UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans for Sat., March 19. The card will take place in Newark, New Jersey and feature a Light Heavyweight Championship bout between reigning champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (#1 Light Heavyweight) and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans (#2) as well as a feature bout between former WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber (#3 Bantamweight) and former WEC Bantamweight Champion Eddie Wineland (#8).

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thurs., Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. EST, but UFC Fight Club members will be able to purchase tickets as early as 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Jan. 11. In addition, a special internet ticket pre-sale will be available to UFC newsletter subscribers on Weds., Jan. 12 starting at 10 a.m. EST. To access this pre-sale, users must register for the UFC newsletter through UFC.com.

“This is the light heavyweight title fight that everyone has been waiting to see,” UFC President Dana White is quoted as saying in the press release. “Shogun has been on an absolute tear and proved that by knocking out Lyoto Machida to take the belt.”

Tickets for UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans are priced at $500, $350, $225, $150, $100 and $60, not including applicable service charges, and go on sale Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations and at the Prudential Center box office. Ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person. UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans will be available live on Pay-Per-View on iN DEMAND, DirecTV, DISH Network, Avail-TVN, BellTV, Shaw Communications, Sasktel, and Viewer’s Choice Canada for a suggested retail price of $44.99 US/$49.99 CAN for Standard Definition and $54.99 US/$59.99 CAN for High Definition.
