At FIGHT! Magazine, we believe there is a need for a completely objective and unbiased ranking system for fighters to replace the myriad of subjective rankings that have become skewed, in many instances, by fighter popularity. In an effort to address this issue FIGHT! Magazine brings you its computerized rankings system which takes into account a fighters strength of opponent, strength of performance, and frequency of activity.
Matt Lindland got back in the win column and climbed from #49 to #37 in FIGHT!’s Middleweight Rankings with his stoppage of unranked Kevin Casey. Welterweight prospect Tyron Woodley slipped one spot, from #47 to #48, in our Welterweight Rankings with his split decision victory over unranked Nathan Coy. It’s rare for a guy to lose ground with a win, but a split decision is the weakest mathematical result in our ranking system – factor in the fact that Coy is unranked and welterweight is absolutely stacked, and Woodley slides one spot in the wrong direction.
Tarec Saffiedine enters those same stacked Welterweight Rankings at #37 after his stoppage win over Nate Moore. UFC, WEC, and IFL vet Pat Healy enters our Lightweight Rankings at #80 following his win over unranked Brian Travers. No other ranked fighters appeared on the card.
