This Saturday at the huge BAMMA 3 show in Birmingham, Ryan White (6-4) will attempt to reignite his career, as he takes on Seth ‘The Silverback’ Petruzelli. The ZT Fight School alum is chomping at the bit to get in the cage on fight night.

“I’m very happy to be fighting Seth and be on the BAMMA show,” he beamed. “I’m really looking forward to this fight. This is a big opportunity to test myself and to get to the next level.”

White is by no means underestimating the challenge in front of him though, and realises the enormity of the task ahead. “Seth is by far the best fighter I have ever been in with,” conceded Ryan. “As for him beating Kimbo though, that doesn’t worry me one bit. I have been in this sport a lot longer than Kimbo and I don’t plan on making the same mistake he did and rushing in.”

Ryan is also determined to enjoy himself in this bout. “I would like to keep the fight standing and have some fun,” he remarked. “I’m always looking for a victory but this is a tough test for any fighter.”

Last time out, the Sol Gilbert-trained man defeated Earl Brown via doctor’s stoppage after 2:29 of round one. He was happy with his performance, and this has instilled confidence into him going into the Petruzelli contest.

“We had a game plan in that fight and stuck to it, so I was really happy with how it went,” enthused Ryan, a naturally heavy handed striker. “It’s always good going into a fight coming of a win in your last as well, so that’s a bonus.”

Even though that last bout was eleven months ago, ‘The Great’ White doesn’t reckon there will be any ring rust. “I’ve not been in the cage since June, but I’ve been keeping myself active and have had some boxing bouts,” he revealed. “I’ve been working a lot on my hands with Sol Gilbert so wanted to put them to the test. I last boxed on March 5th, winning on points.”

White is fully aware what a victory over the ‘Kimbo Killer,’ could do for his career, and that makes him want it even more. He declared, “I think a win could get me noticed more in UK MMA and give me more confidence going into the light-heavyweight ZT £10K tournament which will be happening on 31st July 2010, as well as some bigger paydays!”

Even though Petruzelli is a huge favourite, with a fighter as powerful as White, anything could happen on May 15th. When asked for his feelings on how the fight would go, Ryan noted, “I predict a war and a whole lot of fun!”
