“I’m one of the guys that started with Charles “Mask” Lewis,” Bobby Razak says. The Englishman, transplanted in Los Angeles in the 1990s to pursue a career in filmmaking, hooked up with the Tapout crew and played an instrumental role in promoting the brand through his documentary, “Rites of Passage.” More than a decade later, Razak stays busy producing commercials for Tapout and other companies as well as working on television shows for MTV and MSNBC.
Razak is currently finishing work on two feature-length documentaries, “The History of MMA,” and “Sangre Nueva.” According to Razak, “we’re focusing primarily on the Latin market,” with “Sangre Nuevo,” which tells the stories of Gilbert Melendez, Miguel Torres, and Cain Velasquez. The filmmaker gave FIGHT! first crack at “Sangre Nuevo” with this teaser advertisement for Dethrone Royalty featuring Melendez, Torres, and Velasquez along with FIGHT!’s Sept. cover subject Mike Swick, Josh Koscheck, and Josh Thomson.
