UFC middleweight Alan Belcher received his BJJ black belt in October from his longtime instructor Helio Soneca. Belcher, who has four submission victories inside the Octagon, has been training BJJ for 13 years.

UFC vet Mike Pyle made his professional debut in 1999 against Quinton Jackson. Rampage, who was fighting in his first pro contest, earned the unanimous decision victory. In his second pro fight, Pyle submitted Jon Fitch, who was making his pro debut.
