Rankings

At FIGHT! Magazine, we believe there is a need for a completely objective and unbiased ranking system for fighters to replace the myriad subjective rankings that have become skewed, in many instances, by fighter popularity. In an effort to address this issue FIGHT! Magazine brings you its computerized rankings system which takes into account a fighters strength of opponent, strength of performance, and frequency of activity.

Some would call Yoshiyuki Yoshida’s loss a ruined investment. Bjorn Rebney calls it “proof of concept.” In true Bellator fashion, the big-name free agent came in and lost to the upstart (see: Huerta vs. Curran). Yoshida falls from #91 to #117 in our Welterweight Rankings, while unranked Chris Lozano notches a nice win in his first qualifying fight. Mike Chandler enters our Welterweight Rankings at #53 after notching his third win in three qualifying fights.

Dave Herman resolved his contract dispute with Bellator but didn’t benefit from his win over unranked replacement fighter Michal Kita, holding steady in our Heavyweight Rankings at #24. Fellow big man Shawn Jordan notched his third qualifying fight and enters our rankings at #65.

FIGHT! will roll out rankings for female fighters in early 2011.
