O CANADA II
Although ESPN The Magazine dubbed Toronto “the worst city for sports in North America,” that hasn’t deterred Zuffa from hosting UFC 140 at the Air Canada Centre on Dec. 10 in Ontario’s favorite city. Frank Mir, the Nogueira brothers, Tito Ortiz, and Rory MacDonald will be swinging for the fences when the action begins.
DEEP WATER
Japanese MMA promotion DEEP is rumored to be planning an event for February 26, 2012—the same day that the UFC will hold its show at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Japan.
MOTHER RUSSIA
Fedor Emelianenko will try to halt a three-fight skid when he takes on Jeff Monson at M-1’s Nov. 20 event in Moscow, Russia. Monson also is looking to get back on the winning track after suffering a unanimous-decision loss to Daniel Cormier in June.
