You’ve finished all eight of your fights. Are you at least curious to see what a decision is like?
No, not really. I like to finish them off.
When you beat Miguel Torres to become the WEC Bantamweight Champion, did you ever consider growing a mullet?
I thought about growing a mullet beforehand and coming out with one, but I decided against it because it would just look so bad. A redneck from Georgia, if I came out with a mullet it’d be real bad.
What is the most embarrassing song on your iPod?
I really don’t have any. I have like seven songs on there. Let’s see, I’ve got some Johnny Cash, some Guns and Roses. Maybe that Blinded by the Light song is probably the most embarrassing one.
You know the iPod holds a couple thousand songs, right?
I just hook it up to Pandora and listen to that usually.
What’s the story behind your tiger tattoo?
I had a really bad armband tattoo. I looked like I was in ‘80’s porn or something, so I had to get it covered up. That’s basically what that’s about. It’s a lot cooler than an armband.
What’s the least hardcore part of the HardCore Gym where you train?
Some of the guys listen to boy bands. Fallout Boy and people like that.
Did you enjoy throwing out the first pitch at the Atlanta Braves game?
It was unexpected. It was really cool to go down there and walk around where the players are and stuff, places people don’t get to see. That was pretty cool.
How did you kill time when you were recovering from your broken hand?
I mostly sat around and didn’t do much. I tried to run when I could. Just hung out with friends and watched TV.
What are you watching on TV these days?
I watch pretty weird stuff. I watch the History Channel. Really random stuff. I’ve been watching Jersey Shore lately.

Who are some of your favorite fighters to watch?
I like to watch exciting guys. I like to watch Frankie Edgar fight. I like Tyson Griffin. I like guys like that, not necessarily the champs or whatever, I just like watching exciting fighters. I like watching [Urijah] Faber—he comes up with random stuff. I like watching Anderson [Silva] even though his last couple fights haven’t been all that great. I like watching him fight. He’s such a technician.
What food do you most look forward to eating after your fight is over?
I love eating steak and cheesecake.
How does it feel to have your own trading card?
It’s awesome. I have yet to see it, but it’s pretty cool. I grew up collecting stuff like that, and then when you get older, you have one. It’s pretty awesome.
Are you hoping it’s not the annoying one that comes in every pack?
I really hope so. I don’t think it will be.
What does it take for a woman to win over Brian Bowles?
I don’t know. It’s impossible.
