Kazuo Misaki was fighting for his pride and nothing more at Sengoku Ninth Battle. The Japanese journeyman beat Kazuhiro Nakamura, a match originally intended to determine the number one contender for champion Jorge Santiago’s belt. But due to recent legal troubles, Misaki fought for free and won’t get a title shot. The punishment is unrelated to any sentence stemming from his guilty plea to traffic violations and obstruction, just a little feudal-style comeuppance.
