Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s new old movie is out. “Bad Guys,” an homage to high-budget drug heist shoot-‘em-ups starring Jackson, Kate Del Castillo, and Sherman Augustus, is enjoying limited theatrical release.

The film was shot in 2005 by fight promoters turned movie producers Frederico Lapenda and Bas Boon but was shelved until Jackson’s notoriety helped inspire Maya Entertainment, a distributor with ties to movie rental titan Blockbuster, to breathe new life into the project in 2008. The film picked up three awards at the 2008 Beverly Hills Film Festival and will be screened in select cities over the next month.

The film just completed its run in Los Angeles. “Bad Guys” will be screened in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Miami Aug. 7-13, San Francisco Aug. 14-20, San Diego Aug. 21-27 and Dallas Sept. 4-10.
