FIGHT! Rankings

At FIGHT! Magazine, we believe there is a need for a completely objective and unbiased ranking system for fighters to replace the myriad subjective rankings that have become skewed, in many instances, by fighter popularity. In an effort to address this issue FIGHT! Magazine brings you its computerized rankings system which takes into account a fighters strength of opponent, strength of performance, and frequency of activity.

Due in part to their frequency of activity, Bellator fighters continue to join, and move up, in our rankings, especially in the less-developed lower weight classes.

In the night’s main event, Bryan Baker bested multi-organizational veteran Jeremy Horn. The decision win moved Baker up one spot, from #41 to #40 in FIGHT!’s Middleweight Rankings, while Horn dropped the same distance, from #74 to #75.

In Bantamweight Tournament action, Zach Makovsky held on to his #5 ranking with a win over replacement fighter Bryan Goldsby, who falls from #30 to #33. In the other tourney bout, IFL veteran Ed West jumped from #35 to #16 in our Bantamweight Rankings with a win over Jose Vega, who enters our rankings at #24.

In the night’s final main-card bout, Louisville local Brent Weedman notched his third qualifying fight with a win over UK prospect Jacob McClintock for a spot in Bellator’s season four welterweight tournament. Weedman enters our Welterweight Rankings at #74, while McClintock enters at #125.
