Bonuses

It’s not uncommon for UFC President Dana White to hand out extra bonuses but it is a bit strange for there to be as many as six bonuses awarded after the fight. And according to White, more checks are in the mail. (http://mmajunkie.com/news/19806/after-action-packed-ufc-116-fight-card-more-bonus-checks-on-the-way.mma) UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, TUF veteran Stephan Bonnar, Krzysztof Soszynski, Gerald Harris, Chris Leben and Yoshihiro Akiyama each pocketed $75,000 bonuses for their performances on Saturday night.

Lesnar won “Submission of the Night” for finishing Shane Carwin, Harris took home “Knockout of the Night” for slamming Dave Branch into the land of wind and ghosts and Bonnar vs. Soszynski & Akiyama vs. Leben were both named “Fight of the Night.”

  1. Hey o does that mean the computers girlfriend Fedor will no longer be ‘ 1 heavyweight in the rankings please tell me soon because it will add to my growing excitement regarding the next issuse

  2. @sharkey – i do believe Fedor slipped to no. 2 after his loss to Werdum. i think Paul Heyman can really appreciate Lesnar’s win because he seems like has a pretty balanced understanding of the fight, something people close to a fighter usually don’t have.
