BRINGING COUNTRIES TOGETHER, ONE BEATING AT A TIME.

STRONG SHOWING
KSW XVII heads to the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland, on Nov. 26. Headlining the event will be five-time World’s Strongest Man winner Mariusz Pudzianokski against James “The Colossus” Thompson. UFC vets Matt Horwich, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, and Maciej Jewtuszko round out the undercard.

ADCC ROLL CALL
Dean Lister (-99kg) was the lone American to take home a gold medal at the 2011 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship in Nottingham, England, on Sept. 25. A Brazilian contingency dominated the event, including winners Rafael Mendes (-66kg), Marcelo Garcia (-88kg), Andre Galvao (-88kg and Absolute), and Vinny Magalhaes (+99kg). Notable MMA veterans Rousimar Palhares (-88kg) and Fabricio
Werdum (+99kg) took runner-up honors.

O CANADA I
Bellator 57 sneaks north of the border to Rama, Canada, on Nov. 12. The event will feature Zoila Gurgel vs. Carina Damm and the final round of the Welterweight Season 5 Tournament. Preliminary action will be streamed on spike.com while the main card can be seen on MTV2.

O CANADA II
Although ESPN The Magazine dubbed Toronto “the worst city for sports in North America,” that hasn’t deterred Zuffa from hosting UFC 140 at the Air Canada Centre on Dec. 10 in Ontario’s favorite city. Frank Mir, the Nogueira brothers, Tito Ortiz, and Rory MacDonald will be swinging for the fences when the action begins.

DEEP WATER
Japanese MMA promotion DEEP is rumored to be planning an event for February 26, 2012—the same day that the UFC will hold its show at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Japan.

MOTHER RUSSIA
Fedor Emelianenko will try to halt a three-fight skid when he takes on Jeff Monson at M-1’s Nov. 20 event in Moscow, Russia. Monson also is looking to get back on the winning track after suffering a unanimous-decision loss to Daniel Cormier in June.
