MMA Blog: Jens Pulver
the week to come
10/2/2008 2:46:30 PM

Whats up all just taking a minute to keep you all up to date on whats going on with me. Its been a busy week with training and getting ready for the baby shower/engagement party. I am sure you all reading this was like dang, is he gonna talk about fighting or what lol. We are just a few weeks away from the birth of our son Karson Pulver and I am very excited to meet him. I need to thank Monte, Missy and the rest of the Cox family for letting us have the celebration at their house on Sat. What makes this real special is My Daughter Madeline is flying in from arizona to be here for the week as well. It has been a few months since I have seen her in person, so I am looking forward to sitting down and talking to her and see just how much she has grown in the last few months. She is 5 and 1/2 and has all kinds of stuff to tell me about kindergarten. So big weekend for this family and I just wanted to let you all in on that.
On to fighting and my training. well the hurricane put things on hold and that was tough to deal with, I was in shape and down on weight when the call came in the night before I was leaving, that they were gonna have to push the fight back. So I just took that extra time to really work on the things I did wrong in my last fight and make some huge improvements. I have become so one dimensional at times that its really starting to kick me in the butt. In the weeks to come I will keep you all informed as to what changes I made and where it is I am training. For the first time (sadly enough) I will be heading off to a training camp. Its just time for a change for me and its time to get back to making my fight game complete. I am only at 40% to where I should be in this game that has evolved so much from when it began. So this fight couldn't come at a better time, like I have said before enough with being the ball, its time to be the bat. Time to start wrecking things and just knocking it out of the park. To all those who take the time to read this I thank you and wish you all the best.

Jens, glad to see you taking your training seriously and acknowledging the holes in your game. You have amazing potential and you definitely showed that in the Swanson fight.
